WHAT TO EXPECT ON CASP+
CompTIA CASP+ Exam Requirements
The CompTIA Advanced Security Practioner or CASP+ certification demonstrates that you have competency in network security, threats, and vulnerabilities. The CASP+ certification is geared towards cyber-security managers who want to learn how to implement cyber security policies and frameworks. This certification is an advanced level certification. CompTIA recommends at least 10 years of experience with 5 years hands on technical experience before attempting CASP+. The exam will cover things such as: Risk Management, Enterprise Security Architecture, Enterprise Security Operations, Integration and Research & Development.
HERE’S HOW THE TEST BREAKS DOWN
The CASP+ exam costs are 439$ USD. This is a one time nonrefundable fee.
You have 165 minutes to complete the exam. Once the exam has started there are no breaks given, unless there is a malfunction with the test. Consequently, you will be terminated if you leave the testing room for anything other than a malfunction.
The CASP+ exam has a maximum of 90 questions. There is a myriad of questions types such as:
- Multiple Choice
- Multiple Answer
- Drag & Drop
- Simulation ( Requires you to fix a simulated problem in a virtual environment)
Unlike most CompTIA exams CASP+ uses a Pass Or Fail scoring system. You’ll get your results as soon as you complete your exam.
Students must re-certify every three years. However, students can waive re- certification by enrolling into CompTIA’s continuing education for an annual fee. Another route to re-certification is by simply acquiring a higher level of certification. For example, a student who is Security+ certified can get CASP+ certified as well. In doing so they not only obtain the CASP+ certification but also renew their Security+ certification.
WHAT KIND OF JOB CAN YOU EXPECT TO GET ONCE CERTIFIED?
The CASP+ certification is a highly sough after certification within the DOD. If you are looking to work with or around the military this certification will put you head and shoulders over the competition. The positions you can fill with this certification include
